About

"My approach is strategic, direct and collaborative. I explain the available options and their practical consequences so clients can make informed decisions with confidence." — Daria Adler

Daria Adler is a business litigation and intellectual property attorney who helps companies, entrepreneurs and creative brands protect the value they've built – and defend it when it's challenged. Her practice covers business and commercial litigation, trademark and copyright litigation, and trademark prosecution, giving clients a single point of contact for building a brand and fighting for it in court.

Daria earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 2023, where she was named to the dean's list. She also holds an advanced technical certificate in paralegal studies from Lone Star College – North Harris and a bachelor's degree in psychology, with a minor in philosophy, from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Before joining Hendershot Cowart P.C., Daria represented clients in federal and Texas state courts in trademark, copyright and business litigation matters. Her trademark dispute experience includes appeals, oppositions, and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), the administrative law venue for trademark matters at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She also stays current on emerging issues in her field – in 2024, she presented "2023 Copyright Update: The Rise of AI" at the State Bar of Texas's Advanced Intellectual Property Law CLE.

Daria's interest in business and intellectual property law traces back to an early personal experience with a dispute that threatened a closely held business. Seeing how issues involving competition, confidential information and business relationships can affect both a company and the people behind it gave her a lasting appreciation for this area of law – and it's what drives her approach today: helping business owners, entrepreneurs and creative brands protect what they've built, and standing up for that work when it's challenged or unfairly used.

Clients can expect Daria to start by identifying what matters most to them and whether any deadlines or risks need immediate attention. From there, she gathers the facts, clarifies the outcome they're after, and evaluates the legal issue in the context of their broader business goals. She's known for close attention to detail and creative problem-solving, examining a case from multiple angles to build a strategy that's both legally sound and practical.

"I don't treat my clients' questions as simple yes-or-no issues. My goal is to give them the context behind the legal advice – not just an answer – so they can make informed, confident decisions based on the full picture, not the issue in isolation."

Daria was born in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and lived in Moscow until age 15. She attended high school in the United Kingdom and earned her undergraduate degree in Vancouver, Canada, before family and community ties brought her to call Houston home. She is fluent in Russian and proficient in French. Daria volunteers with the University of Houston Law Center's Entertainment Law Clinic, mentoring law students and advising underserved entrepreneurs on intellectual property and business matters. Outside the office, she enjoys anime, manga, video games, alpine skiing, and photography.
