Hendershot Cowart P.C. is proud to announce that four of our attorneys have earned Super Lawyers® recognition for 2026.

Super Lawyers named Managing Shareholder Simon W. (Trey) Hendershot III and attorney Matthew M. Buschi to its 2026 Texas Super Lawyers list for Business Litigation. It also named attorneys Korri D. Bryant and Anton J. Stewart to its 2026 Texas Rising Stars list, also for Business Litigation.

Both lists rest on peer recognition and professional achievement. Super Lawyers does not allow any attorney to pay for a place on either list.

Our 2026 Super Lawyers Honorees

Simon W. (Trey) Hendershot III

Texas Super Lawyers, Business Litigation, 2026

Trey leads the firm's business law, litigation, and healthcare legal team. He represents business owners, physicians, and medical practices in business litigation, including partner and ownership conflicts and practice split-ups, as well as payor disputes and government investigations.

Trey has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® each year since 2021.

Matthew M. Buschi

Texas Super Lawyers, Business Litigation, 2023–2026

Matt is a business litigation and appellate attorney with more than a decade of experience in commercial disputes at the trial and appellate levels. His practice focuses on business divorces, shareholder and partnership disputes, commercial landlord-tenant matters, construction litigation, and civil appeals. He has represented clients before the Texas Courts of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.

Matt began his career representing minority shareholders in shareholder oppression lawsuits, helping owners with the least say in a company get real value for their stake. Super Lawyers has recognized him each year since 2023.

Our 2026 Rising Stars Honorees

Korri D. Bryant

Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Business Litigation, 2024–2026

Korri is a commercial and probate litigator with nearly a decade of litigation experience. She represents businesses, executives, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries in employment disputes, restrictive covenant disputes, shareholder conflicts, and will and trust contests. This year marks her third consecutive selection to the Rising Stars list.

Her experience also includes serving as general counsel for a healthcare services business, where she guided contracts, litigation, and risk management. That in-house background gives her a practical view of the business pressures behind every legal decision.

Anton J. Stewart

Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Business Litigation, 2026

Anton represents businesses, from emerging companies to Fortune 500 companies, in commercial, trade secret, unfair competition, and employment disputes in state and federal courts across the country. He is licensed in Texas, New York, and the District of Columbia, and he speaks French and Russian, which helps him serve clients with international operations.

Anton measures success by whether a client's business comes out whole, not just whether the case ends in a win. In August, Best Lawyers® also included him in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Labor and Employment Law – Management.

How Super Lawyers Selects Attorneys

Super Lawyers uses a patented, multiphase process that combines peer input with independent research. It makes selections each year on a state-by-state basis.

  • Peer nominations – Texas attorneys nominate lawyers they have personally seen in action. Nominations from lawyers outside a candidate's own firm carry more weight, and no one may nominate themselves.
  • Independent research – The Super Lawyers research team scores each candidate on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including experience, honors, verdicts and settlements, and pro bono and community service.
  • Peer evaluation – A "blue ribbon" panel of high-scoring attorneys in each practice area reviews and rates the candidates.
  • Final selection – Super Lawyers compares candidates with attorneys at firms of similar size. No more than 5% of Texas attorneys make the Super Lawyers list.

Before publishing, Super Lawyers also confirms each candidate's good standing with the state licensing authority.

How the Rising Stars List Differs

The Rising Stars list follows the same process with one added eligibility requirement: a candidate must be 40 or younger, or in practice 10 years or less. No more than 2.5% of Texas attorneys make the Rising Stars list each year.

What This Means for You

Peer recognition reflects an attorney's reputation among other lawyers. It is not a promise of any particular outcome, and no recognition can be. What it does tell you is that the lawyers who work alongside our team, and across the table from it, respect the work.

All four honorees handle business litigation – the disputes that land on an owner's desk when a partner, competitor, or former employee crosses a line. Most firms make you choose: one that builds your business, or one that defends it when things go wrong. Hendershot Cowart P.C. has done both since 1987, so the team that defends your company in court understands how it was built.

This recognition follows our attorneys' recent 2027 Best Lawyers recognitions. Please join us in congratulating Trey, Matt, Korri, and Anton.
