How the Two Recognitions Differ
The Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America are separate lists with separate selection pools.
The Best Lawyers in America is published annually and recognizes attorneys by specific practice area and metropolitan area based on evaluations submitted by their peers. The 2027 edition is the 33rd.
Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America applies the same peer-review process to attorneys who are earlier in private practice, generally those with five to nine years of experience. The 2027 edition is the seventh.
Both lists are jurisdiction-specific and practice-area-specific, and both are re-evaluated every year.
What This Means for Our Clients
Peer recognition is a reflection of reputation among other lawyers. It is not a promise of any particular outcome, and no recognition can be. What it does tell you is that the attorneys who practice across the table from us, and alongside us, know the work.
