Roxanne Wise is a law clerk at Hendershot Cowart P.C. in Houston, Texas. She supports the firm’s business law attorneys on business formations, contracts, corporate matters, and mergers and acquisitions. Roxanne joined the firm in 2026. She brings legal training from France and Texas and a view of business law from both sides of the Atlantic.
Roxanne earned three law degrees from the Faculté de Droit et de Science Politique in Aix-en-Provence, France: a Bachelor of Laws in private law, a Master of Laws in banking and finance law, and a Master of Laws in corporate law. Her corporate law studies covered mergers and acquisitions, international contract law, restructuring, and taxation, and included mock M&A transactions. She then came to Texas to earn a Master of Laws in Business Law from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. There, she studied mergers and acquisitions, business associations, corporate governance, and alternative assets, and gave more than 50 hours of pro bono service.
Before moving to the U.S., Roxanne spent two years as a full-time law clerk apprentice at a law firm in Marseille. She drafted and reviewed commercial agreements and corporate documents, performed due diligence, and prepared legal research and memos for transactional and litigation matters. She also did document review and litigation support on the Apollonia affair, a large French real estate and financial fraud case. Her master’s thesis examined the same matter and the responsibility of banks for rental investments.
In 2026, Roxanne completed the Business Law Fellow Program with the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. As a fellow, she drafted a practical guide for U.S. and international companies expanding into Texas, covering corporate governance, business entities, contracts, employment, and taxation. A native French speaker, she chose Houston for its growing French community, its international business environment, and the French companies that have opened U.S. operations here.

Outside of work, Roxanne cares for her German Shepherd, cooks French cuisine, and explores Texas with her husband.
